Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
This is a fun and silly book that helps your toddler with learning about the alphabet. It is another classic that should be a part of your child’s book collection.
Daniel Tries a New Food
This is a great book for any Daniel Tiger fan, especially if they are a picky eater! My daughter is and that is the main reason I got her this book. We refer to it whenever we are trying to encourage her to try new foods. See if it helps with your picky eater!
Giraffes Can’t Dance
This book is another favorite of my daughter’s. It is probably because dancing is one of her most favorite things to do. There is a good lesson to be learned by reading this book. The giraffe ends up feeling low because he can’t dance like the other animals, but he discovers that he can dance after all, in his own way.
Goodnight, Daniel Tiger
Another great book for any Daniel Tiger fan. It is also very helpful if you struggle with your toddler when it is time to get ready for bed.
How to Catch a Unicorn
Have a toddler that is obsessed with unicorns? If so, pick up this book because it is a cute and fun read!
My Big Girl Potty/My Big Boy Potty
First of all, I love that they came out with books for both girls and boys. We own the one for girls and it has been very helpful when it came to potty training our daughter. She loved reading it even when she was not yet ready to potty train. She has also enjoyed reading it since becoming potty trained.

Spooky Boo! A Halloween Adventure
My sister purchased this book for my daughter years ago and she has always been absolutely obsessed with it! It is a very interactive book and I think that’s why she enjoys it so much. It involves several of their senses through the use of flaps, mirrors, and sticky textures.
The Magical Toy Box
A fun and imaginative book that is great for bedtime reading. When the clock strikes 12 the toys emerge from the toy box. Find out what they do while Lucy is sleeping!
The Pout-Pout Fish
I kept hearing so much talk about this book, so I decided to pick up a copy from Amazon for my daughter. It took one time of reading it and she was hooked (no pun intended)!
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
This is a classic for a reason! I don’t know who does not enjoy reading this book. If you don’t already own it for your child you definitely should pick it up.
Unicorn Day
I recently purchased this book for my daughter and it has been her absolute favorite ever since. She has me read it every night before bed. What I like most about it is that it never gets old no matter how many times I read it to her. Usually, after reading a book so many times I beg her to be able to read a different one. This book is so fun and cute that I do not mind reading it every single night. If your toddler loves unicorns as much as mine they will love this book too!
Getting your toddler into reading is so important. The best way to do so is to make sure they have plenty of books to choose from.
Make it a habit to read them a book every night before bed. It really helps to wind them down for the evening.
What are some of your toddler’s favorite books? Share them with me in the comments!

I’m getting my son the giraffe book for Christmas and I can’t wait for him to read it! Thanks for sharing!

Great list! We got Chicka Chicka boom boom as a gift. My daughter thinks it’s so funny!
When my daughter got Chicka Chicka Boom Boom she wanted it read to her every night for a good month or so. She was obsessed and still likes to read it every now and again. She memorized it so well that she can read it right along with me.
The hungry caterpillar is a staple in our household. What a great list!
Glad you enjoyed the list Megan! The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a classic and every kid should own a copy!
Thank you for this! My almost two year loves books and truly says “words” like he is reading! So this gives me great ideas to add to his collection as he get older 🙂
That’s so cute Paris! I’m glad you found some good ideas for books to get your son once he is a bit older. 🙂

Such a great list! We are missing some of these, I’ll have to get them for the kiddos
Thanks Christine! I’m so glad that you enjoyed the post. Which books don’t you currently have? Do your kids have a favorite from the list?
We needed more than one copy of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom in our home. That book was an absolute favorite as was The Very Hungry Caterpillar! I’m not familiar with some of the other titles, but they have my interest. I love giving books as gifts so will definitely need to check some of them out.
Which books sound the most interesting to you Sherry? Books are awesome gifts! I love now how a lot of people ask for books instead of cards for baby showers. I think that is way more useful.
Oh my goodness yes! We own almost all of these books and have worn them out so much. We just had to replace Boom Chica Boom Boom for the second time.
My two year old is currently obsessed with the Pete the Cat series and they are just the cutest books!
My daughter enjoys the Pete the Cat series as well. We do not have physical copies of any of them, but we have read the ebook versions. Is there a favorite from the Pete the Cat series that you would recommend?
